Real Weddings - Luxury gay wedding in Tuscany

Pete & John’s wedding was one of the best experiences a wedding planner could dream of.

They contacted us a year before the wedding took place and we had an immediate connection. An elegant gay couple with amazing jobs and a lovely lifestyle in NY, both fond of Italy…the place where they have lived many experiences together hence the perfect place to seal their relationship in a truly wonderful wedding.

The wedding was celebrated at Villa Valentini Bonaparte between Tuscany and Umbria. A vibrant celebration unfolded in a series of uniquely charming settings. Your Secret Tuscany had the privilege of planning a truly magical experience that began with a pool party welcoming the couple’s guests.

Tuscany Villa: Perfect location for a gay wedding

Villa Valentini Bonaparte is a world-class venue and every detail is absolutely stunning inside and outside. Elegant marbles define the interiors with delicate antiques while lush gardens frame this perfect villa into the heart of Italy. P&J immediately fell in love with it when we first showed them.

The union of P&J found expression in a symbolic ceremony, where the couple exchanged vows in the enchanting amphitheater, offering a truly emotional moment with their entrance on the notes of “White Lotus 2” sung by a terrific soprano singer… her voice got under the skin of all people present.

The design of the ceremony was carefully studied by our event designer Federica Bartolomei and the couple chose to have a fully decorated gate symbolizing the open doors to their future together. The color scheme was very complex as they both liked the idea of autumn colors and yet wanted to communicate happiness and inject the atmosphere with the deepness of their relationship. To obtain this result we balanced carefully shades of orange, blush, white, and a touch of blue which was the couple's favorite color.

After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed the best of the Italian experience, an aperitif on a panoramic terrace overlooking the Tuscan hills accompanied by the sound of a string quartet from Artinchianti. Food and drinks have certainly been an important part of this celebration and thanks to the perfection of Preludio Catering the couple and all the guests really had a taste of the Italian culinary experience.

On the way to the dinner tables, we prepared a hand-made seating plan using the color blue which was P&J main color of the wedding palette. The escort cards were placed on glasses of Champagne and the guests found their names on each menu’ placed on the table. All the wedding stationery was studied in coordination with the creative event designer Federica Bartolomei and the experienced Enza Valente graphic designer. They went for a very elegant stationery creation using shaded blue and applying gold leaves to invitations and menus.

The guests had a truly emotional experience when arriving at the dining area in front of the elegant villa facade. The tablescaping has been carefully studied through months of work. First, we presented the idea, then we prepared the rendering (digital illustration) and finally, we invited the couple to see the table fully decorated with plates, glasses, napkins, and flowers. For our special couple P&J, our amazing florist Simone Bertini came to set the table months in advance to recreate what it would have been like on the wedding day!

But the result of such a beautiful and delicate wedding was also given by the lights. Lights are always so important and the super professional Kaleydo team turned every idea into a successful result that together with the flowers and the elegant villa in the background created a unique atmosphere.

The guests will remember forever the cake-cut moment. We decided to frame the wedding cake with the villa facade in the background. Warm lights emphasize the facade’s features, the beautiful flowers perfectly match the style and the colors of the villa and we had a show cooking wedding cake…this is how we made this moment unforgettable.

The surprises didn’t end there. In fact at the back of the villa we set up the band and a last touch of wow effect with a projection on the floor illuminating the dancing area and creating a perfect stage for the first dance. A vice corner with cigars and whiskey, a fancy cocktail bar, and a DJ to end up the party late at night…what could have been more perfect?
